When we started development of our new antioxidant product, we did what you're doing now--we went out and did some comparison shopping. We bought some of our competitors' products, and took a look at how they made their antioxidant products and what they had to offer.
I guess I would say that I was amazed by what I saw. While the levels of nutrition that were guaranteed on the labels seemed to be in order, a lift of the lid sometimes revealed a product that appeared to be simply "thrown together". Huge differences in particle sizing (tough to mix and easy to sort and sift), foul smells and dustiness seemed to be the norm! I can only imagine how your horse might react when presented with some of these products. One company at least was honest enough to admit right there on the label that their product's "smell and taste may be offensive..."!
One of the products that we received was four months old when we received it! Well, I think that we have a better product to offer. Directions for Use
Provide orally to mature horses at the rate of one to two ounces per day. Dosage may be reduced proportionately for lighter breeds. The enclosed 48cc scoop will hold approximately one (1) ounce, by weight.
Provide one to two scoops per day. Daily dosage may be divided to accommodate feeding schedule. A "loading" dose is not required or suggested. Use caution when additional sources of supplemental nutrients are present in the daily diet.

- Seems to have key balancing metabolic supplements

Purchased at suggestion of my vet for a friesian who demonstrated weak stifles. The vet wanted his Se/Mg increased in a controlled balanced ratio. I can tell as soon as I run out Pre-Ox and stop his daily scoop. He gets lethargic and stiff. A good supplement for my potentially metabolic horse who can have tight hind muscles.
Overall Quality Value Performance - Superior Poduct!!!
- I test my hay and then balance the minerals to NRC requirments per Dr. Elenor Kellon's nutritional course (being sure to adjust for the minerals in PreOx). But the PreOx has all the other required ingredients that hay is usually missing that are such a pain to deal with, and they are in the right ratios. Best of all, it is amazing that the ingredients don't separate, aren't oily or dusty, and aren't full of a bunch of fillers or flavorings that just add bulk and cost. Thank you HorseTech!!!!
